1月16日11时左右，圣克拉拉警官对圣克拉拉县圣克拉拉市Valley Way的一户人家进行了检查。警察到达时，一位Liren Chen的熟人对警察表示，Liren Chen拒接电话，也不愿开门。其称，看到“Liren Chen正在家中，一动不动地跪在地上，双手举在空中，眼神茫然”。
公开数据显示，他们两人所住房屋由于轩一在2023年4月才购买，房价大约200万美元，没想到不到一年，就发生命案。
附近邻居表示，这对年轻人才刚搬到这一条街，这一整条街大多是居住很久的退休老居民，街道平日都非常宁静，这对年轻人刚搬来时，还给街坊邻居送饼干，态度非常友善有礼貌，平日也不曾有什么噪音或争吵。
当然了，这起案件的细节还需等警方召开新闻会公布，才能凑得出全貌。
